Yea this is probably the most honest thing I could say about them without offending anyone. After watching the current eps of Season 2, MM and AL suddenly turned into my least favorite characters in YJ. 

I really meant to give justice to Miss Martian at the beginning of Season 1 because she really met the expectations of a sweet, bubbly, girl-next-door kind of character. And it was perfected with the introduction of her dark and ominous side (i.e. the extent of her telekinetic abilities and the reasons behind some of the league members doubting her when they thought she was the mole). But then as you cross the bridge from Season 1 to 2, you start to think, ‘where is this going?’ Because M’gann’s character development is very inconsistent. Unlike the rest of the team members, we don’t get to go deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole of her character. Sometimes we bounce back to something shallow or something that I feel the audience should have already known in the first several eps of Season 1. A good example of  this bounce back is when we figured out that she was hiding her true form from the rest of the team five episodes before season 1 ended and that came after the mental training simulation episode where I thought her character development was just getting really good. I also didn’t like that she was internally struggling with something as shallow as her image, considering that it was already established that nobody would judge her because they were already so at home with each other. And worse, she succumbed to blackmail because of it. In my head, I was like, “Girl, you can do all these awesome things and you’re so badass, and you’re worried about looks?” To add to that, you chose the Sweet Valley High Duh-Megan stereotype as a peg for your disguise. That is something I am just not a fan of. Now you’re getting a little shady in Season 2 and you traded in Superboy for La’gaan. Which is something I cannot forgive ever because…Superboy. (See previous post for my feels about Superboy and why he needs M’gann in his life)

Now, Aqualad, the guy who’s gotten me into trouble at some point of this discussion, is very much like M’gann only his character development is a little more frustrating. What I personally don’t like about Aqualad is that he does a lot of things half-assed. He is very strong and mature and smart and level-headed and possesses a lot of admirable traits. But he does a lot of things without conviction and you don’t understand why because there are loopholes in his character development. He’s elected as leader but admits that he’s only gonna lead the group because Robin isn’t ready yet. At some point of Season 1, when the team starts doubting his leadership, he goes, “Well fuck you guys, I’m leader and until this shit’s been dealt with, you follow my shit”. It’s like you always have to push him to get anything out of him. Another example. He comes back to Atlantis and finds out Tula is with Garth and leaves them alone without a fight. And we’re not sure why he gives up so easily because it was never really explained in his backstory. But then in Season 2 we find out that he’s shit angry at the Team for “letting Tula die”. We don’t care much for Tula’s death in Season 2 because we don’t really know her all that well, or her relationship with Kaldur, or what happened to her and Garth or why Kaldur’s suddenly so angry again. It’s like his backstories need backstories. Thus making you lose interest in him as soon as he does something confusing. Also, I’m more of a Teen Titan’s Aqualad fan as well. Teen Titan Aqualad was sexy. 

(This is the last post for my YJ Feels. I can’t bring myself to make any more feel-posts for the Minor characters I don’t really have and issue with any of them lol. Hope you guys enjoyed. Again I’m basing all of my stupid arguments on the series and the little knowledge I have from the comics alone. So I understand if at some point you go like, “dis bitch dunn know what she’s talking about” lol it’s cool you guys are fans of AL and MM, or if you hate that I ship Robin and KF eventhough I also ship KF with Artemis, or if you hate YJ in general. We have our own shit lol)

So today is a horrible day because my cat Loki/Nick Furry died. I just found out when I came home from Batangas. My uncle forgot to feed him and kept him outside. And while I’m really mad, I can’t really blame the guy because he never liked cats at all and Loki was my responsibility. Also, I kinda saw it coming because the little guy was already so malnourished no matter how much I fed him and his left eye was already shit blind. So the little guy had only stayed with us for a two weeks since we rescued him from a drainage canal. And I have a feeling Loki’s mad at me and will haunt my shit forever. 

To anyone who’s familiar with story archetypes, I’d imagine Kid Flash as more of a jester-type. He pretty much has the formulaic personality of the funny guy: he’s witty and charming, he’s a flirt but not a sleaze, and he keeps the atmosphere light in scenes with too much tension. Although almost everyone in the team has their own funny quirks and moments, its pretty much KF’s job to be the comic relief. But what he has extra that makes him more lovable is that he’s also a science wiz. He most likely takes it from his mentor, Barry Allen who was a detective. Despite his immaturity and knack for getting into trouble, KF pretty much has a good foundation because of his upbringing. Like he was brought up to be genuinely good. And that I think makes him get along with other characters. Like even when he first met Artemis and was threatened by her presence, he still kept on asking who she was as if he wanted to get to know her. And when Robin led the Hayley’s Circus mission and KF wasn’t able to join them, the way he showed concern for Robin when he asked why he didn’t bring him along — especially because “he knows his backstory” — shows his genuine concern and loyalty. And the way he got really upset and angry over Aqualad wearing Dr. Fate’s helmet and Artemis dying in the mental training simulation, also shows his concern. He wants the people around him to be safe and happy. He has a family that’s good to him and he has friends that trust him — it was like he was made to be a well-loved character.  

In the animated series alone, KF is pretty much the only one without a daddy-issue or is repressed in some way. He’s just, I don’t know, a swell guy. Only feels of love for KF. Feels of love.

Hey Guys.

So I was browsing through my dash last night when something very familiar caught my attention. It was a Young J post and it wasn’t just any ordinary Young J post, it was a Young J post that happens to be posted by my good old pal Gianina. So I felt a different kind of excitement after seeing it, cause now I finally found someone (who I’m very acquainted with) who actually LIKE and LOVE Young J. Gianina and I are like Raikus and Articunos in this tumblr realm…our type is quite rare and truly hard to find.

So I dedicate this post to non other than Gianina. Because we don’t just watch Young J like it’s some sort of cartoon on TV. We watch it like it’s a true story and the characters are like real people for us. Lol. So here I drew Gianina and yours truly wearing our favorite character’s costumes.

So I’m wearing Art’s get up here. I was planning to ditch the belly button thing but naah, it’s not Artemis Crock without the belly button thing. But I replaced the mask with a bonnet… so it’d pretty much look like me in a different way. Gianina’s favorite is Dick Grayson. Well it’s actually Art too but I declared to own Art first. Wahaha. So It’s just right to draw her in a Robin suit. I hate to say this but we actually look nice in their costumes. And drawing this reminds me of my favorite Episode which is Episode 12 “Homefront” in season 1. All the others were captured by Red Inferno and Torpedo, and it was up to Art and Dick to save them. It was really tough considering that Art and Dick are powerless, they are pure human beings without the slightest touch of superpower. But despite this, the two (especially Art) were able to save MM, KF, Aqua dude and Connor. Plus that episode had a lot of Art and Dick in it so it really was the best episode ever. All the feels.

I LIKE THAT YOU COMPARED US TO POKEMON HAHAHAH

I’M CRYING. I’M ROBIN. *UGLY SCREAMING* YOU’RE ART. THIS IS PERFECT. AND THE COLOR SCHEME IS ALSO SURPRISINGLY PERFECT.

Out of everyone in the team I think Artemis showed the most humanity. I mean, although she puts up a front, she’s not someone who represses or ignores her emotions. When she’s scared and desperate, she cries. When she’s angry or threatened, she shows it. She just finds out the Connor’s with M’gann, she redirects her frustrations on something else and gets over it right away. And that I think keeps her from going berserk and losing control. She knows how to deal with her baggage and knows her priorities, and that’s why despite her being emotional, she can still manage her bamf personalty. 

And even if somewhere in the future of Season 2, she makes a comeback as a villain, I’m totally cool with that because her character development’s pretty much complete as it is so I have a hunch that whatever motives she’ll have as a villain will be legit. 

Just like her abs are legit.

(If  Bins didn’t have claim on Artemis I’d say she’s my favorite among the team. Also, I’m pretty biased with archers in general lol. I’ve been wanting to fix her hair for a very long time. Now, we’re braid buddies.)
