Woop look at that, I criticized the government on the internet. Senate is gonna charge me for libel. Welp, I guess I’m going to jail. And while we’re on the same page, some time next week, they’re going to pass a law that can get me and anyone else in the country to spend twelve years in jail (or spend one million pesos bail money) for downloading shows/movie/songs. 

Hey, going to jail, especially if I’m going to jail with the Filipino population of my fandoms, sounds dandy. We could talk about our otp’s while doing time in the slammer. Whatevs. Because I admit I’m a criminal in that aspect. I download movies off of torrent sites (especially now in October when all our shows are coming back). But I’ve read through the rest of the said bill and there are a lot of things are not okay in the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 or RA 10175. 

If you go look it up on Google, I’m sure you can find a lot of articles addressing the issues concerning this bill. In my opinion, which I take full responsibility for if ever this shit law is passed, I hate how we’re prioritizing this over the other more relevant and serious issues that need our attention.

It’s taking decades for Senate to pass the RH Bill, something the Philippines needs badly (and it still hasn’t been passed). It took only a few months for Senate to get this bill up and running. And believe me, I watch the news every night. Shit just popped up like daisies. They also allotted, I believe, fifty million for its provisions annually. And speaking of provisions, you can serve twelve years in jail for violating this law, but you only need to serve three years for rape? And it really is internet martial law if you look at it in general. Anything you say on the internet or like on Facebook will be held against you for libel. 

NOPE. I’M DONE WITH YOU PH. I’M SO DONE WITH YOU. THIS IS WHY WE CAN’T HAVE NICE THINGS.

If ever some facts I said about the bill are incorrect, you’ll have to forgive me. Right now I can’t access the copy of the bill in our government website, not sure why. They might have taken it down. In the meantime, I’ll be enjoying  my people flooding my wall with customized V For Vendetta logos protesting this shit bill. A lot of us have also made out profile and cover photos black because fuck the government right now.

September 26-27, 2012 | Guia’s Birthday

D!U’s writer, motivational coach, makeup guru, and 24/7 beautiful unicorn turned 22 last Wednesday! We drank and sang karaoke and thought it would be ridiculous to sing Carry On My Wayward Son by Kansas, only to end up fangirling because only recently did we make her become a fan of Dean Winchester. Putography also made a cameo appearance in this gif set. Our very own Katato also played the piano for us for the first time. All in all, it was a fun night with great friends. Happy happy birthday, Guiastar!
